This Month I’ve Mostly Been…(July 2026)

It’s the end of another month and so to another short breakdown of some of the media I’ve enjoyed over the last few weeks.

This month I’ve been reading…

‘Threadbare’ by Tyler Turner Poetry…and fantastic poetry at that! My favourite Derbsyhire poet releases her first collection, it deals with history and memory both shared and personal and is very accessible so even if you think you don’t like poetry I think you’ll like this!

'Orbital’ by Samantha Harvey I picked this up on a whim at Hestia books in Wirksworth (well worth a visit) and LOVED it! Set aboard the international space station it’s a book about…well seemingly nothing really, procedures, the mundanity of work and the repetitive nature of daily tasks but then it’s also about so much more. A beautiful meditation on life, the universe and our place and concerns within it

This month I’ve been watching…

I spent some time with the lovely comedy 'Dinosaur’ on BBC iPlayer. I’m obviously very late to the party (as usual) as there are actually two series available, I thoroughly enjoyed series one of this “comedy about love, friendship and being your own self - even if it makes others uncomfortable.”

And finally this month I’ve been listening to a lot of…

'Rite’ Circ

'Actual Earth Music - Volume 3 & 4’ Earth Ball

'Paprasomnias’ Presidiomodelo

'No Nation but Imagination’ Alexander Hawkins

Alongside the above new music I’ve been enjoying, here’s a playlist of everything I gave a listen to this month on Tidal 'This Month I’ve Mostly Been Listening to…July 2026’

I really hope you enjoy checking some of these out, let me know what you think in the comments and I’ll see you next month!
